I started playing approx. 5 days after Factions came out and have been playing since. I've tried games like WoW but have always come back to Guild Wars its great PvP and community. Over the years I have accumulated many Hero ranks and a couple Champion ranks.
I love how little tweaks to the ancient system keep adding reasons to play this game. For example, the menagerie is a great form of Pokemon for beast masters who have to have all the pets. Replayability is really what it's all about. Very cool.
I still enjoy GW1, and am happy with it as is, but am disappointed in the lack of news concerning GW2. I'm not saying "release it tomorrow", just that an update every-so-often would be nice, since the last public release was in February '09 and stated "it'll be done when it's done"... I feel like Anet and NCsoft are abandoning their fans and potential future customers.
I would Like to see this continue. Its been a good run! But with your Help we can Achieve even greater things! Guild Wars and Guild Wars 2 is asking for your support. 4 More years!
for the last 2 years of Guild Wars PvP, a select group of skills get buffed, or other skills get nerfed, creating turmoil among the community and quickly a dominant "build" of skills is put together. This "build" becomes "meta" or the ONLY thing ever run. The only thing that can counter the meta is the meta itself or a specifically designed "anti-meta." This results in extremely stale PvP for a couple of months, until those skills are nerfed (almost never happens) or other select skills are made more powerful than the previous meta (almost always happens). And thus the cycle repeats. I suggest a total overhaul of all skills currently in the game is needed. this will (possibly) reinforce confidence in current player's minds that the "balancing" staff have been actually thinking about how their PvP works. I suggest a total overhaul of all skills currently in the game is needed. this will (possibly) reinforce confidence in current player's minds that the "balancing" staff have been actually thinking about how their PvP works. Instead of paying attention to what is the most common thing, and changing a few already used skills to make them more common than the previous ones.
It will also show players that the PvP staff are concerned about Guild Wars 2's PvP and that they are activly thinking about certain combinations of skills, and attempting to eliminate any "use this and only this" builds that could potentially appear in Guild Wars 2. [show less]
