I think that Anet needs to make some clear and honest comunication about the current status of GW2. There has been a lot of speculation in game that the game will never come out. There is even news that the game is not coming till 2010 or 2011. If this is the case, come out and really tell us that, don't hide... [show more]

Like they say a bad game sucks forever, but a good delayed game is still good. If we need to wait, lets wait. If we need to wait, maybe they could develop a mini-campaign (not like the Bonus Mission Pack), that would further bridge the story between GW1 and GW2.
I love GW and am really looking forward to GW2, but I am feeling a little left out while other MMOs are getting new campaigns and content and we are playing the same missions, farming the same raptors for the last few years. [show less]

With the launch of the original Guild Wars there was a truely cinematic trailer. Then, with the launch of Factions, the trailer was again cinematic. But when Nightfall lauched, the trailer was based on in-game. That's not what the perfect trailer looks like in my eyes. Make the trailer like from prophecies and factions with AWESOME music and put the in-game footage in gameplay videos. How do you guys think about this? You want to see a trailer like Prophecies or a trailer like Nightfall? A Cinematic one or an in-game based one? [show less]
I'd like to see some sign that the Anet Devs are actually reading GW2 suggestions, at least, the ones on GW Wiki. I'd like to see some sign that the Anet Devs are actually reading GW2 suggestions, at least, the ones on GW Wiki. You know, maybe at Christmas they could release a letter listing ten ideas they found interesting but which they would not confirm as having yet been chosen for inclusion. I don't even necessarily want the truth. Lie for all I care. I just want them to name who thought of each idea, where they read it, and write one or two sentences commenting on why they liked each idea. Even if it's all a bunch of lies it means someone must have read it in order for them to make the list. Also, giving out Promotional Minis to each of the users who thought of these ideas might be a good idea. Please, Is Anyone listening? [show less]

Whilst it would be great to have a release date for GW2 that could be met, unfortunately this just isn't possible since all MMO releases fall victim to a version of Hofstadter's law and Heisenberg's uncertainty principle.
Hofstadters law is as follows:
All MMOs launch later than their release dates - even if Hofstadter's law is taken into account when setting the release date.
Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle says:
You can't know, at the same time, both how long an MMO will take to develop *and* the quality of the product that will be released. So the tighter you fix the release date the less you can guarantee the quality of the final product and conversely the more you fix the quality of your product the less you can say about when it will be released...
Anet are actually being quite sneaky by not announcing a release date, because we know that by Hofstadter's law they would never be able to meet it and by Heisenberg's Uncertainty principle even if they were able to meet it they couldn't guarantee the quality of the result. [show less]
