The storyline

I really love the storyline of Prophecies and Eye of the North. Factions is good as well, but I feel that Nightfall was a bit of a step backwards in the story.

Also, I like the tactic skills needed to play, compared to other MMO's I've tried out. can't complain about the Graphics either, really...

Unique Mechanics

No Fed-ex quests. Unique and well excecuted mechanics. Forgiving character progression. BALANCED! (for the most part.) Simply put, It's not WoW and doesnt try to be.

Map Communication

Sometimes chat and even voice takes too long when you can simply draw on the map for all to see. Guildwars' map communication is an ingenious way to keep team members together.

Reliability

Guild Wars is one game I can count on to work well, and I can't think of a single glitch or bug that has disrupted game play regularly. I also love the fact that it's a few years old., since the game engine runs on a small footprint with a high framerate. If Guild Wars 2 is engineered as well as GW1, I'll be a... [show more]

Simple client with streaming content

Lets you buy the game and start playing immediately, while the rest of the game downloads in the background. Slick!

Group-Based PvE Combat

One of the things I hated most about other MMO RPGs, was that most of the play time was spent repeating the same actions over and over trying to fight one monster at a time, and praying you didn't aggro more. In GW, henchies and heroes made it possible to always have a group with you. This made battle more... [show more]

Armor Progression

I have to admit that my primary drive throughout Guild Wars has been rooted in pimping out my characters' clothing.

Runs well in windowed mode

I love how lightweight guild wars is and that I can run it windowed at any resolution.

Birthday Presents

Finding a little wrapped present in your 1-year-old's inventory is an awesome tradition. It's a neat way to keep people invested in their characters.

Pop Culture References

Some of the items and quests have great names. I love game that don't take themselves too seriously. Ex:"Worthy Deeds - Done Dirt Cheap" (ACDC) and "Grabthar's Hammer", a reference to one of my favorite movies, Galaxy Quest.

Cooperative Missions

Cooperative Missions are the major quests that include various exciting goals/cutscenes/etc that you find between all the little grinding side quests.

Goodies & games within the game

I'm ashamed to admit it, but sometimes I just love getting my character drunk or playing sledding games in winter. Stuff like that

Skills & Heroes

Probably spent more time mucking around with heroes and team skill sets than actually playing the game. Just wish I could have more heroes in the party rather than the aweful henchmen...

Soloability

You can get pretty much anywhere in the game by yourself (with h/h). No high-end guild or other player(s) needed. No de facto need to get armor/weapons that you'd almost never be able to get on your own in order to remain competitive

Wow that is a hard one to decide. I like many things for I am a person who likes variety. That is why I keep coming back. The game always has something interesting to do, and even holidays keep it upbeat. Even if I don't gain all the rare rewards or even some of the common ones it if all fine. I play because it is fun, and that is what games should be. Even the work seems like play and I don't even have to do that if I don't want to.

Guild Wars is great!
