This site is an amazing idea, though the one thing any video gaem suggestion site need is the actual notice of the company they're suggesting for. So I was wondering, does Anet know about what we're doing here, and if not, how can we fix that? We also should try to bring as many players as possible to this... [show more]

So I was wondering, does Anet know about what we're doing here, and if not, how can we fix that? We also should try to bring as many players as possible to this site. We have the potential to take a pivotal position in the GW community, all we need is a following. [show less]
I've noticed probably my biggest concern with this format is that we are voting on every idea for GW2 in a single catagory, and their not broadly listed either, so multiple topics are paged out of view. If this site is primarily about suggestions for GW2, it might help to divide them up into the 5 catagories mentioned back in NikiWiki, I'd have to go back and look to remember which ones.
I know the main ones were "Combat Gameplay", "Character Development", and "World/General Game Mechanics".
This would help match up simular ideas into groups and keep them in perspective with their function. [show less]

I found this site through a link on the official GW wiki, which means that some traffic can come from there. The people who maintain this site should consider actively posting invitations for suggestions and other forms of input on the websites of the top ranked Guilds in the game. If you could get buy-in from the Guild leaders, get them interested in contributing to this site, their members would naturally follow. If invitations on the sites seem too unwieldy, perhaps whispering the individual Guild leaders in game would be more appropriate. Either way you are basically "cold calling" a lot of prospects and should avoid spamming people with "come check out our cool blah blah" messages. You should also make sure that any invitation be standardized and issued by responsible people you can rely on (avoiding making poor impressions with tactless representatives). Coupling these efforts with a system of link or banner swaps might improve their effect. [show less]
Now that Guild Wars Wiki is making huge changes to their suggestion pages, why not try to get peoples attention and get them over here instead? Perhaps a quite visible link or just a mention of it, somewhere were people can see it.
If the site becomes more active, topics are likely to get out of control. Perhaps new topic creation should be restricted to admins and there should be a place to suggest new topics - Some of the topics look more like answers to other topics.
The page I use most is the active topics page. But what I would really want to see is an "active answers" list. For instance the GW2 suggestions list is now becoming quite large and if someone comments on one answer in the topic shortly after someone has commented on another, the first answer comment... For instance the GW2 suggestions list is now becoming quite large and if someone comments on one answer in the topic shortly after someone has commented on another, the first answer comment becomes hidden - that's likely to immediately halt any ongoing discussion of the answer. [show less]
As is, the voting options only really speak to the quality of the answer as submitted (funny, boring, helpful, etc). I'd like to be able to vote on whether I agree with the idea, and I'd think the devs would find it useful to be able to see how many people in the community agree with a particular... [show more]

Love the ideas behind the site. Was thinking though that with the default order for answers being sort by vote ranking later answers are likely to get stuck down the bottom and people are much less likely to vote on them so they will stay unpopular - people are surprisingly lazy about selecting... Perhaps answers should *by default* be sorted by last activity date (newest). i.e. date added, last vote, last comment would all bump the answer in this view. [show less]
Each member should be able to have the system generate a list of topics, from most to least relavant, based on a cloud of words that that member uses most, combined with member specified keywords. It coud be displayed with the title "Your Cloud" under the tags entry on the home page and under the Google Keywords ad on all subsequent pages. [show less]
Would be great to hold a GWIF (Guild Wars Ideas and Feedback) party in GW2 sometime after the release so that we can all show off our hall of monuments and also show off how many of our suggested features did actually make it into production.
The switch to sans serif for body text is very welcome. At larger sizes the serif faces look pretty; but, body text is about readability, not sizzle, and sans is just more readable. Thank you.

I don't promote nazis; but, this clip is great for shiggles ( the hitler depiction is just an odd form of dressing):

If you know a designer, they'll love you for heeding the typeface advice.
