My first character was an ele. My second character was an ele. After I quit playing GW and came back to it six months later, I made my first permanent character, Cashile. And she is an ele. Nuking is awesome easy and fun! Elementalists for the win.
NO way any prof beats the ele. My first prof was and ele as well, there are only 2 things I find wrong with them:
1: Almost all the male armors have long coattails, or robes, and though that fits with the mage idea, I don't like, so I tend to buy the armors with shorter backs.
2: Water magic, it has quite the possibilities, but the problem is, in trying to make it ice oriented to fit with grenth's dominion over it, they have also focused on slowing a bit too much, which has doomed it to a life of cookie-cutter PvP builds, only being used in places like Jade Quarry for slowing enemy carriers, or in other places, where it has lived lonely, it's only company being the Rangers Snaring/Crippling ability. Both have almost no use in PvE.
My first char was an Ele too, but I disagree about nuking being the best part, in truth, I enjoy best playing Earth/Water ele as a support char. I think that while the ele does have a huge raw damage potential, it really shines when supporting.
Plus, try playing a Master of Magic build with all kinds of elements in it. It actually isn't as bad as it sounds...
