Nightfall, I felt was a huge step forward in the right direction. Environments were more varied amd spacey, enemies were better distributed, and the story just barely beats EotN making it the best in the series. The addition of heroes made the game much more playable (although slightly less sociable) and added extra charters into the story. The missions were far ahead of Faction and very fin to play. Everything about it is better than other campaigns, but EotN still improves PvE just a bit more just barely placing it above Nightfall in the GW campaigns.

Yes. The addition of heroes completely changed the game and added a whole new level of enjoyment for me. It also gave me something to do with all the awesome weapons I'd been finding.

I started playing GW a few months before the release of Nightfall, but the introduction of heroes, when it came in Nightfall, transformed the game for me.

One thing I really like about prophecies though that hasn't made it into subsequent campaigns is the fact that the explorable areas have an unstructured feeling and are not all related to mission progression. That gives much more feeling of a real world.

I've just thought of something. Why did the gods do nothing to help us against Abaddon? I'm guessing it's because they knew what a pussy he was and that a team of heroes and henchies could take him out in five minutes without breaking a sweat, but if we had failed, they must have known Abaddon would eventually come after them. I mean, the whole "The power is in you" speach, could that have just been replaced by "Okay, yeah but what do you want our help for? Seriously the guy is a puss." More than that, it makes the whole second to last mission seem sort of pointless. Still, I think NF probably had the best ending out of all the games and the best final battle. Shiro was a nonsensical puss, the Lich Lord was really stupid and weak, and the Great Destroyer was just plain cheap. Abaddon was fairly easy, but beating him actually felt like an achievement.

Nightfall for me was the best campaign. The story seemed more creative and linked together since the beginning. In Prophecies, you just end up discovering that your the ``Chosen`` ones at Sanctum Cay when the Vizier tells you and then the story alters to you trying to ascend only to go back to the main storyline in unlocking the titans, only to lock them up again. WEAK!

Anyways. Nightfall for me, was structured, well thought out and sectioned. Whenever people ask me which campaign they should get after Prophecies, I always say nightfall.

Where nightfall did a few step in a right direction, it was the beginning of the powercreep. I'd sure give it some more credit if it wasn't for PvE skills and other stuff that made PvE so easy...

I can say I actually HATE nightfall.

Nightfall's campaign was good.

However, the introduction of heros completely broke the game and made Guild Wars from a multiplayer to a single player game with Multiplayer aspects in PvP.

Well that's a matter of opinion - For the many players who would rather run a marathon wearing very painful shoes than join a PUG, heroes were the best thing that happened to the game.

Which just so backs up everything I just stated.

Multiplayer game to a single-player game.

It's the term "broken" which is at issue here. I would reserve that for MMOs that attempt to force you down dungeons for hours on end with random squads of dementedly selfish pre-teens quarreling over loot...
