Answer for: Guild Wars 2 Suggestions
#75 Be able to use add-ons
We should be able to add on programs like some other mmos do. Be able to add stuff like experience calculators, kill counters, quest guides, etc. would make the game more fun and customizable to the individual.

Good idea - I'd like to see that too. Not sure why but I'd be surprised if they actually do allow this.
we'll see I guess.
Guild Wars already has approved Add-On programs. Look up TexMod.

TexMod is NOT approved. It's just tolerated, as you may glean from this quote:
"To all modders: It's important to note that the parameters concerning the use of third-party programs do still apply. We cannot condone the use of such programs, and we cannot support the accounts of those who may be negatively impacted in using such programs. That's called the If it eats your hard drive and blows up your refrigerator, don't call us policy." --Gaile, from http://wiki.guildwars....me_graphics
Truly approved modding would be akin to inclusion of Unreal Ed with Unreal. ArenaNet does not publish any modding tools and does not support any mods to its engine. An unsupported, undocumented modding community is next to no modding community.

ACTUALLY Read the official TexMod statement please.
"What I want to say above all about this matter is that if you're going to mod, have fun, but do stick with the benign and positive uses of the programs and create mods that impact the game only in ways that are fun and harmless."
Obviously my understanding of the TexMod page is different than yours. I agree to disagree on whether or not it is an approved platform for creating complete mods.
If you happen to find a GW mod tool that can make the equivalent of a the Counter Strike mod to Half-Life or even a single instance mod like those made for Unreal please let me know. I'd love to give it a try. Especially if it were robust enough to fix some of the lame collision and scripting errors in missions like Moddok Crevice.
I haven't found an abundance of statistical data hacks for GW that read game data and produce HUD overlays or key command accessible pop-ups that display live game data. Do you have any other examples besides TexMod that serve as kill counters or other forms of player information systems? A list with links would be great help.
No, I don't. TexMod is the only 3rd party program that I've found that will work.
Somehow this feels like people wanting Guild Wars to be like WoW...
