Answer for: What Guild Wars 2 announcements are you looking forward to?
#9 Cinematic Trailer
With the launch of the original Guild Wars there was a truely cinematic trailer. Then, with the launch of Factions, the trailer was again cinematic. But when Nightfall lauched, the trailer was based on in-game. That's not what the perfect trailer looks like in my eyes. Make the trailer like from prophecies and factions with AWESOME music and put the in-game footage in gameplay videos. How do you guys think about this? You want to see a trailer like Prophecies or a trailer like Nightfall? A Cinematic one or an in-game based one?

Agreed. WoW has amazing trailers that almost make me want to subscribe. It would be great if GW2 trailers could have this sort of cinematic treatment.
The point of an in-game trailer is to show actual gameplay and graphics. Many players say "Wow, that cinematic looks cool", and then go check out the real graphics. Then they're dissapointed. However for the first chapter of a new beginning, I agree that a new cinematic is needed.
I think they'll need both a cinematic and a gameplay trailer. On one hand, cinematics are fun, but they are deceiving and people know that. When I was first investigating GW, I was adamant that I see a gameplay trailer. Luckily, plenty were available as I joined GW rather late.
I do like how the current trailer weaves the concept art and game footage, perhaps they'll do something similar with a cinematic/gameplay trailer closer to launch.
Well, cinematic is good and bad. In the original GW's trailer, you see Devona fighting with two swords, and Cynn hitting stuff with her staff. In-game, you won't see either one anywhere. It _looked_ awesome, yes, but it didn't represent the game very well.
