i believe we miss out on a lot of the beauty of guild wars because we cant zoom in very well and guildwars 2 will be increadibly beautiful with many things to observe so i think if we will be able to zoom farther than first person view so we could see long distances as if scouting or to zoom in on a dead monster to observe how he looks or just looking at plants or random things. i believe this should be for every profession but it could be limited to the ranger and possibly assassin classes to increase their differences from the other professions we be a major appeal to play them and deffinately increase scouting abilities which would be great for large hilly areas and when you climb on top of a tree would be fantastic for world vs world combat if some people were going around the main battle to try to get to a supply line or something or take the back way into the castle a scout with a zoom in ability would be able to see them please reply about what you guys think and i hope a beta comes out soon :-)

This is a great idea. I would also like to see a zoom out feature. It always felt like the camera was too close to my char.
Anyway though, using your idea for scouting is very cool. The different quest they could come up with to take advantage of this feature in pve would be pretty neat too. Especially if rangers could shoot pretty far, maybe with an enchanted bow or something.
This feature is currently included in Guild Wars one and is called "The Scroll Button."
No, the scroll button allows you to zoom in a very limited way. I want to see detail from a distance. Not just zoom in to crappy "almost" first person view. (Can't even see the hands and weapons)
And the zoom out option is poor at best. I can't even see all my minions or enemies for that matter. Especially when fighting large groups.
there actually was a bug for a while where you could see your weapons in the first person view. was really cool; wished they didn't fix it.
that would have been really cool especially for my warrior.
lol yeah i remember that i loved playing in first person running around seeing my weapons.
yeah your right a farther zoom out feature would be really nice too for big battles or even just to see scenary
